Last July I drew a bicycle with Rhino 6. It seems pretty fine, the only problem is that its file size is too big. It’s almost 200 MB. But I didn’t try to reduce it last year.

However this semester, I took a 3D Modeling Course using Cinema 4D. My teacher asked us to build several models. And one of them is "Bicycle".

So I tried to merge the bicycle file into Cinema 4D. It can’t be imported successfully. Every time I imported it into C4D, the software crashed immediately.

Due to this problem, I opened my browser and search for the ways to solve it.

Here are 3 ways to reduce file size:

1.Use “_purge” command

2.When you save file, notice the option

please make sure the file is being saved as the following condition

SaveSmall=Yes and SavePlugInData=No

3. Save the file as *.OBJ

Notice that the save option including “NURBS to Mesh” and unchecked those option that seems would increase the size of the file( example: precision, curve….etc)
